Your questions, answered
General information cannot replace advice for your individual teeth and oral health.
Who may be suitable for clear aligners?
Clear aligners may be suitable for some mild to moderate alignment concerns, but suitability cannot be confirmed online. Your records and oral health require professional review.
How does the at-home impression kit work?
Use the trays and impression material as instructed, then return the completed records for a quality check. An impression may need to be repeated if it does not capture enough usable detail.
What is a 3D treatment preview?
It is a simulation of the planned tooth movements. It helps explain the proposed plan, but it does not guarantee that your teeth will move exactly as shown.
How long does clear aligner treatment take?
Your estimated timeline depends on the starting position of your teeth, the planned movements, wear compliance and clinical response. The estimate should be provided with your individual plan.
How often do I change aligners?
Change aligners only on the schedule prescribed in your treatment plan. Contact the SmileWide team if a tray does not fit as expected.
How should I clean my aligners?
Follow the care guide supplied with your treatment. In general, use cool or lukewarm water and avoid heat that could distort the plastic.
What should I do if an aligner breaks or is lost?
Contact the SmileWide support team promptly and follow their advice. Do not automatically move to another stage unless instructed.
Will I need retainers?
Retention is commonly needed after orthodontic treatment to help maintain tooth positions. Your treating professional should provide an individual retention plan.
